Hit My First Major Goal, 25 pounds!!!!!

I hit my first goal of 25 pounds!!! I'm so relieved to finally get there. It's taken about six months, so averaging about a pound a week, and not nearly fast enough for me of course. It never is. I am half way to my ending goal of 50 pounds. At that point, depending on how I feel and how I look, I'll make a decision on whether to lose any more.

First of the Month Weigh-In

Well, progress is good, not as fast as I'd like to see it, but I suppose that is the way it is for anyone losing weight. I want it off and I want it off NOW!!! I actually began this journey about a month before my first blog post, but seriously hit it after Thanksgiving. I had lost some before Thanksgiving, and basically maintained throughout the holidays. Snow Days.....

My boys are adjusting to condo living. It's not quite like having a huge open house to run and play in. Today is the second or third snow day in a row and no school for the Monday holiday, things are beginning to get rather confined. Here's hoping I'll get that playroom downstairs finished soon so that they have their own space to do as they want.

My Journey Begins.... thats the hardest part.... just beginning

Weight Loss: For me, just making that step to end what I'm doing wrong and begin all the healthy stuff is the hardest. Once I can get myself going on a steady pace I seem to do ok, it's just getting that motivation to begin.

What kind of geek are you?

I'm a Geekette! and a WebDesign/host Geek and I build systems to spec for fun (let not kid here, it's really for the money but it IS so much fun!!)

Why do you consider yourself a geek?

Why would I not? I'm here aren't I? I'm known as the geek of the family, especially at Christmas, thats when it's REALLY appreciated!!

How did you find out about our Geek community?

from Chris of course! geez haha. Who else would find/setup the most geekiest places on earth???

What are your "geeky equipment" specs?

MacBook Pro BABY!!!
all the standards plus upgraded (all by myself!!)
hd to 250gb, 4gb ram, and a red hard cover.

I also have a couple of Windows machines. One is a laptop and one is a "mutt" that I built from scratch. Speaking of which, it's time for an upgrade!!! Oh SANTA!!! I need parts/toys!!!!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

taller LOTS TALLER!!! (by the way, who said I had to grow up anyhow?)

What makes you laugh?

funny people/people watching, it's fun to watch stupid happen

What is the thing in life you treasure most?

my kids, my computer, and not necessarily in that order! hahaha

What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?

Most geekiest thing was working the 24 Hour Call-For-Help-Athon for TechTV. You remember, the one where Chris lost it! I have never laughed so hard in my life!!! The second most geekiest was when I attended DefCon OMGosh what fun!! Now, to get to GnomeDex!!!

What do you do to entertain yourself?

shop online, chat online, dating sites, met people all over the world online

That is all that is important. I admit after more than 2 years of working at it, junk food and late night eating is still tough for me.
While I still log about 20 or more miles a week of running, my eating is still a hard thing to manage. I think I am better than I was a few years back. I certainly do eat better, but the lifelong battle continues.

She would not move to Florida. She came down for a visit and hated it. Believe me I tried that...I work for Mediacom so I know exactly how cold it gets outside. I was 35 ft up a pole fixing a feeder line when it was 38 below zero out!!! Good times...lol

I joined the military on the judges "suggestion" when I was 17 yrs old. I retired a SFC from the US Army Rangers and was living the beach life in Florida. She called and gave me the I'm getting older speech and I only have one momma so I am here now.
