Computer/Electronics/Marketing

What is the thing in life you treasure most?
My closest family and friends.
What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
Fixed the entire school network, and then left a loophole in it so that I could remote connect to all the computers and the PA system. Never was there such an awesome rickroll. 8'D
What do you do to entertain yourself?
Games, Music, programming, ect.
Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?
Linkin Park, Dragon Force, Disturbed, Several other artists that I can't remember at the moment.

Uhm, most technical books. I'm not really a novel reader, but I am trying to become an author of one, if that makes any sense.

I love most all 3D Art. :3

Halflife series, Halo series, Starcraft, warcraft, tabletop gaming, D&D, D20 modern, and recently WoW.

Hobbies include occasional walks, work, 3D modeling, Animation, Game Development, Electronics, Blueprinting/inventing, and then Live-steel Dueling(Not LARPING for pete's sake! I do re-enactment shows, and it's not choreographed!)

That's about it for me. :3

A theory about Readybooost and SSD

Hello there geeks and techs!

I've got a question for you. What is the difference between a flashdrive and a Solid State Drive? One plugs into SATA and the other into USB, correct?

Well, obviously there are other differences, such as price, speed, stability, but when you boil the parts all down, are they not the same concepts? If so, then I have a theory:

Windows Vista and Windows 7 use a program called Readyboost to utilize your flashdrive as a form of low-priority RAM. Now, knowing this, and… Continue

Happy bir- did you sign up yet!?!?

"Did you sign up for selective service yet?"

GRAH! I'm getting sick and tired of this question! Seriously, it's enough to make me want to pull my hair out and scream!

My eighteenth birthday, supposed to be a happy, joyful day... basically it's this same thing, over and over.

I was woken up early just so that I could go register for classes... yay for paying 300 bucks a week early!... not.

I had to run to what seemed like a half a million places just to get the classes registered and the book… Continue

Removing the matrix filter...

Translation from original filtered dialog into unfiltered computer geek dialog

You take the Intel - the story ends, you BSOD, and boot up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.

You take the AMD - you change maps to the wonderland level with no lag and I show you all the l33t skilz of the hax and all the map exploi… Continue

Gamestop, another flailing pile of fail

Honestly, when was it signed away that customers were no longer treated as customers? Allow me to explain.

I paid over 350 dollars for an Xbox360, 20 gigabyte hard drive, Fallout3, and Fallout3: The Pitt expansion. Needless to say, I had fun... until I beat the game in five hours and found out that the expansion was nothing more than a jumble of meaningless side quests that didn't progress the storyline at all. Well, if you guys know the fallout series, you'd know that it is a game that takes a… Continue

Some tips for geeks needing to lose pounds

I know Chris put his 50 tips out, along with the E-Book going out, but I wanted to toss my few little 2 cents into the pot, if you don't mind. :P

Now, as I'm sure, most of you out there are a little bitty bit on the unhealthy side, or just slightly overweight. Well, there are some people that will tell you "You need to go on a diet for 6 months, and then afterwards, eat like you were on the diet, just eat a little bit more!"

Well, if your like me, your sweet tooth, or your italian tooth(pasta,… Continue

No. There are plenty of places to park but not close to UAB. Finding street parking in that area is hard because of two things, the University is there and also one of the top rated Research Hospitals in the country It is amazing at how that place is growing.

I do not mind as I feel that the doctors and the hospital there is worth the effort.

I got a work out today going in to Birmingham to a docs office. Didn't have a dime on me or my card so I had to be inventive finding a parking place where there are non. Walked enough for both of us.

About the pool 97% is killer. I love it.

Other than using that great program Audacity, I use an additional program called Free Audio Editor 2009 and you also can set the "Stereo Mix" option, just like the way you can Audacity.

Thank you for your answer Aryeh! It was very enlightening and had just the answers I was looking for. So while the theory is viable, the practicality of such an idea would leave the system no better or worse if it had an optimal amount of memory. I…

Hello Good questions, Darwin! While both USB Flash RAM drives and SATA/PATA/SCSI/FC SSDs use RAM to hold information, it is the type of RAM which is difference. A USB Flash RAM drive uses NAND memory, which is implemented as a much slower form of…
