Disingenuous people abusing social media?

The subject of disingenuous people using social media has been on my mind for several weeks. A good example of this is politicians on Twitter. Some political candidates running for office will “tweet up a storm” during the election, sing the praises of social media, then the minute they are elected you never see another tweet from them.

Why do you consider yourself a geek?: I enjoy technology in way that is not mainstream!

What are your "geeky equipment" specs?: Computer: MacBook Pro 13" / 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / 4 GB RAM. My Amateur Radio: Kenwood TH-F6A, and Radio Shack Pro-94 Scanner.
Mobile: iPhone 3GS 16GB (though I do manage all the Blackberrys for our business, and do pick one up every now and then).

What do you want to be when you grow up?: I am 26, I manage the family business.

What makes you laugh?: Comedy that makes fun of everyday things / stereotypes.
