Is 3gb all of the space on the hard drive? Seriously? Anyway, ubuntu requires 4 GB of hard drive space, and the Eee pc doesnt have a CD-drive, so pretty much your only option is to use a USB flash drive with ubuntu on it.

Install the remix, it will wipe the old o/s off of the hard drive.

1) External USB CD/DVD drive (normal install CD) 2) USB memory stick (1GB+) (netbook remix) 3) SD card (if your Eee has the reader built in) (netbook remix)

Hey Geeks! I recently got a Asus EEE pc, (Not sure of the model) and it has 3gb of Harddrive Space, I want to install Ubuntu Linux over the stock OS but I do not have enough space, is there a way to delete the stock OS and put Ubuntu there instead...

I didn't know there was a so called 'OS Throne' but if there was I don't thing any OS that Macs produced have ever been on this 'Throne', Microsoft has owned that for years...yes Mac OSes have caught up but they never have overtaken them in Market...

well there are some old appz like maya 6 and matlab for linux, just sw house dont support linux, cuz they see no profit in it...and thats it. if you work with database, programming , and stuff like this linux offer powerful tools. not all sw on it...

Off course, platform will always be free (Ubuntu promise), but why not let some commercial apps in, some say it will ruin the whole concept and because of that big time companies don't want to develop their professional apps for free and give away...

hmm, im hoping that will not be just linux + google appz... have you ever tried gOS? is ubuntu based, come with dock and have all stuff pre-builded , google gadget and appz, its also a very light OS.
