It depends, if you have the ugrade option, do so to keep your files. Start your PC with your DVD/CD in the drive-it will jump to page which says 'Press any key to continue'-Windows will then begin to load files. The next step is select language and…
Yes if you install windows 7 you will lose all your date.. move the files you need to a USB or if there alot of data onto another hard drive.

Ather said… - Hi Chrisman, sorry for the late reply, i've been very busy lately. I am an Electrical and Electronic engineer but have specialised in Control and Systems engineering.
To give you an idea, on an aeroplane, the the system that controls the auto pilot and provides the necessary adjustment and course corrections from actual flight path and the flight plan.
I just read your bio, my father was a mechanical engineer too and my inspiration. I'm currently considering PHD and am in talks with universities. Good luck with your studies and one solid advice i will give you is stay on top of your Mathematics!
