For me it turn on aero when i had it off. I just turn it off again and no issues since.
Bad programming can be the cause in some cases. I hate bloatware. I have seen a lot of problems with OEM computers due to being "overweight in bad software". If mac's came loaded with buggy problems people would have issues with mac even more but ...

I didnt know ppl still used excel vba. Does it use vb6 or .net?
you could do share your wireless connection with your desktop though the netbook's Ethernet port using internet sharing connection.

Second day ag. and tech farming with computers?
Today I went to work on a local chicken farm. This chicken farm has been around for a long time and has been in the same family the whole time. I have known this family for ten years now and I must say Raining organic chickens sucks. ORGANIC bird must stay in the houses longer and peck at everything they are running a mock! Today was a crazy day. I took Linux tests most of the day and I remembered why I love Linux. It's free and is awesome for developers but I do not want to take a test for awhile after taking six tests.
In other news I fixed up another dell today but was unable to find drivers for the modem in it. That brings up a whole new topic. Programming drivers is it hard? Anyone let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!

My girlfriend works at the Golf club as a bar maid and through word of mouth, she gets requests from people to see if I can fix their computers for them.
I would go pro, but I don't have any cert's as an I.T. guy. I am mainly self taught and have been dabling in computers for about 28 years.
