Have you ever wondered how the RGB to HEX conversion works? I was wondering how a person could figure that out the other day and this is what I learned:

Lets take an RGB Value of 231, 56, 78. The first thing we have to do is we have to turn each of those values, the R, G and B, into a binary octet. So to start lets take a look at the R value of 231. When we convert that we get:

11100111

The next step is to take that and cut it into two 4 bit chunks. This gives us:

1110, 0111

Ok, I finally got my butt into gear and I put ubuntu on a disk and am running it now while I type this. I actually, dare I say it, I actually kind of like it so far. It appeals to the developer inside me. So being brand new to linux I was wondering if anyone had any good resources for learning there command line and scripting. Thanks much.
