I only use my pinky to hold shift for capitals on the left hand and hit enter or maybe numpads when I don't want to move my whole hand.

Thanks for the comment on the blog. The bulb does indeed look like some sort of alien like thing. That isn't just for looks though. The "hand" is used for dispersing heat, not from the bulb itself but the micro transformer included in the base of the bulb.
