Disassemble IBM R40

I have recently disassembled my IBM R40 Laptop because the motherboard was not operating well. I believe your just wondering why I did that. The reason because when I was in school I used to take my laptop with me and I used to put my laptop in my bag with all the school books. So while the laptop was in my bag I used to leave it switched on and hang around the school going up and down the stairs. Which I believe the motherboard got crashed.
