I picked up LoZ: ALttP when I was young. I sold the cart though, don't remember why I did, but I beat the game without a Game Genie or cheat codes (and was quite thrilled when I discovered the Chris Houliban room shortly after emulators came out and a cheat code was discovered for it invloving trying to make the fastest time from the Sanctuary all the way to somewhere else while using the pegasis boots to assist, then falling into the basement of the castle while holding down a certain button combination (forgot, it's been a while), but the result weilds a oom with 200 rupees and a cheaply re-colored octork that says "Hi, I'm Chris Houliban. This is my top secret room. Lets keep this a secret between us, OK?:
