Just thought i would share a very odd moment i just experienced and that is my xbox just spat out cod4 mid game and now the disk tray thinks its constantly opening i have no doubt in my mind that i caused it (just fixed rrod) but its just funny i thought

I don't think I've paid more than £29.99 for a game in a long time, simply because I'm patient and buy 2nd hand from the amazon marketplace. Then I sell the games on when I'm finished and fund new ones.

I don't think they've got that much more expensive, I'm sure I remember megadrive (genesis) games being pretty expensive in their day, and also consoles. So I think it's stayed relatively pretty constant. Apart from the PS3 console which takes the #£@%. and the rrp of most games is like £50, but you can pretty much always get them for £39.99, especially online. so I don't think it's as bad as people make out.

Games have definitely gotten longer (and more expensive :). Just imagine the outcry if a game today were charged retail price and only lasted 3 hours!!

@Cyntax I was surprised at how short Monkey Island was, first time I played it (back in the late 90s) it felt much longer, but I guess that's indicative of how long games have got. Monkey Island originally had to fit on a floppy disk.

I just hope they re-release Monkey Island 2 as that was much much longer, and my personal favourite.

Monkey Island is very short, much shorter than I expected, I'm just going through it the 2nd time to try to get all the achievements. The first time seemed longer because I was going into all the conversations etc. this time I'm skipping all the convos to complete it as quick as possible (one of the achievements is to complete the game in under 3 hours). And Shadow Complex is only a kind of 2D side scroller with 3D graphics right? So the graphics should be pretty good. I think the graphics on Battlefield 1943 are pretty good and that's fully 3D. The maps are pretty small though, and they're all pretty similar which is a bit disappointing. Hopefully they'll bring out a map pack with some better maps. Although I like the fact they have a planes only mode if you fancy some purely aerial combat:P

Does anyone know how to disable that voice chat noise which occurs whenever you enter a conversation? It's horrible, and I want it gone! :P
