Thanks for the advice Garrett W!!!
I just got to take my time and go by the plan I have made for the site.
Well, I need to set deadlines for each phase of the web page layout.
My main goal for my site is to get visitors and my family to visit from time to time; in other words keep a steady flow of visitors.
I also plan on building a business site at home to promote my own services later on this year.
I will keep your advice in mind, while I brainstorm and set goals for my pages.

@Anthony: yeah lol that's why I said "it CAN help" - you dont have to do it that way. there have been many times where i haven't done it that way.
and about your portfolio issue: I don't really see that, but then again I haven't tried to get many web development jobs.

I completely agree with Garrett, yet mind myself about to do the exact opposite...

On a completely different note, I'm curious as to how others might manage a "Web Developer's Portfolio". I get a lot of potential employers asking for examples of my work, but I always seem to run into the same issues: They only want professional work, not things you did in your free time, but the sites you work on professionally are always changing, from the day you leave the company. I'm wondering how you guys approach this, or do you even see this issue?

@Otis: it can help to completely plan out your site before you write any code or draw any images.

I am knowledgeable of how to build a website but, have problem with content and actually putting it on the web.
I plan on finish the web pages that I have and add an few more in the next few weeks.
I like to design them professionally but, have problems with managing my time to finish them.
It's like my mind goes blank after I get to putting content on my site and pages.

I don't think it's necessarily the same group. One is about Web technology in general and the other is more specifically about design.
