Hey everybody, glad to find this group. I live in Tampa Bay, so I pretty much have been tracking Hurricanes since I was 10. I am an amateur radio operator, so I got my Storm Spotter certification through the National Weather Service. If that is not all geeky I do not know what is!

This is a great group, which I found while looking for a geo/mapping-type group. Thank you for having it! I wanna invite anyone who is interested in geeking out on mapping to the group I just started (since I couldn't find an existing one)- geogeeks - for all your non-weather-related map and geospatial networking needs... It's Cool To Be The Only One, Off All My Coworkers to Know When It's Going To Rain Or What's the Temperature off The Day (of course thats not the only topic off the day) But Im The Best At it. BTW i Also love music

I am an amateur meteorologist and have been interested in weather since I was very young. I record my own temperatures, pressure, and so forth as well as daily check the GFS and ECMWF models for current trends as well as teleconnections. I am active on Netweather.tv which is a UK-based and also worldwide weather discussion forum with amateurs and experts discussing all things meteorological.
