What made you decide to use Vista over XP (or any other OS)? Was Vista installed on your PC when you bought it or did you upgrade?
For me it was simple. I always want the latest OS software and so I installed Vista as soon as it was beta and went from there. Because of the hardware problems though I went back and forth to XP and Vista.
It was not until I realised that XP does not support 4GB RAM that I realised that I had no choice but to use Vista if I upgraded my laptop. I now have 4GB RAM and Vista and have not looked back since :)
My laptop came pre-installed with vista and I see no problems with it. I have not seen one BSoD on this laptop and right now I can't see why people hate it so much. Apart from the fact that UAC comes up every 5 seconds!!!!
"Why are you currently using Vista?" Well I've always been a Windows guy, when I bought my laptop it came with it (Home Premium ) I dislike it a bit, knowing I could have more I decided to install the Ultimate version x64, then a Desktop PC was given to me [my friend kept on complaining about hi PC so he gave to me :)] so I did the same thing fresh installed Vista Ultimate x64 and I love it, they have been working very good (only my PC has crashed a couple of times but I know the reason...) I never really had major problems, "if you want to get the best out of your PC, then do a fresh install of the OS, specially with HP, they jam your PC with useless junk..."
It came with my computer and my drivers are set to vista, and i'm to lazy to try xp on it. Maybe i go for windows 7 when it's been on the marked for some time.
- I have no problems with Vista, but i think that i could get more out of xp.
Vista came on my PC and laptop, and I too like to run the latest stuff. I know that Windows ME suffered the same fate that Vista has. But I ran Windows ME with no trouble. I'm running Vista with no trouble, as I can make any operating system bend to my wishes. That why I'm a Geek, I don't need to ask anyone how to fix things they all ask me. Geeky, Geeky and proud of it.
I really like Vista, but since installing Vista SP2 I can't get Windows updates to install. I'm working with Microsoft to try to resolve this issue but so far the EXPERTS are not having much luck. FYI, Microsoft offers free tech support for any issues that prevent you from installing security updates. Many don't know this and suffer running a crippled PC that is more at risk of getting infected. I'm open to suggestions on how to get Windows Update to work on my PC.
Be aware that Vista 32bit operating system doesn't support 4GBs of Ram either. When you install Vista SP2 you Sys info will now show the true amount of installed ram but only 3GBs of ram and that includes all the Ram on your system including cache, video etc. You need to be running Vista 64bit to get full use of the ram installed on your system.
Well, my vista (same as many of you) was preinstalled as well, and I think people really underestimate its capabilities. Apparently, some people expect a PERFECT O.S with no problems at all, and when the go to Vista and spot the slightest problem, it's all of a sudden WORST O.S IN THE WORLD! So yeah, though yeah, I admit I don't like how some programs don't run as they are supposed to when running as an administrator, and its limitations on each version, but overall, I find it a very good O.S with a lot of potential in becoming a next generation system.
i changed to vista because its more stable, now hold on just stay with me if you perform a reg check every day and find a good defagger it can be qiute a great os
ps
if you download vista home pre lite with reg check unbelivable.
