1. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Think before you buy something new and before you throw something away. Remember what is one man,s trash can be another man's treasure. 2. Regularly clean and maintain air conditioners to avoid harmful chemicals leaking in the environment. 3. When buying a refrigerator or freezer make sure they do not use CFC's. 4. Use only seasoned hardwood in a fireplace or wood stove. Stove needs to meet EPA smoke emission standards. 5. Buy only paper products that are made from recycled paper. 6. Avoid using consumer products that add ozone depleting CFC's to the environments. Common products include foam installation, polystyrene and styrofoam. 7. Plant a tree to absorb carbon dioxide and air pollutants. 8. Stand up for what you believe in. Be active in the community in recycling and other activities to help preserve the environment we live in. 9.Educate your children on preserving the environment. Let the be part of your activities in hope someday they will grow up to be responsible environmentally aware adults.
Well my project, which was lost along with my old profile, was a project based on water and solar energy. It was a simple air conditioner that used solar to powerr the pump and fans while water was used as coolant. I figure if I ever build it some day, it would be worth it. CFC's is what standard air conditioners use and they use too much electricity because they use ac fans which require more power than dc fans.
