It rather pains me to say this but I went to see the movie TWILIGHT the other night and I did not like it much at all. I wanted to, I REALLY wanted to. The book was a real treat to read. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. The movie was the opposite. I'll just try to keep this review short and some what sweet by listing what I did not like about it.

1. THE MOVIE ITSELF, LOOKED LOW BUDGET.

What happened to the gloss? I've seen better quality looking home videos on YOUTUBE.

2. ACTING CLASSES ANYONE?

The main characters COULD NOT act. Now, this was a real shock. I was not expecting such poor acting. It seems like they spent more money on face powder and lip gloss. ( Edward's red lips were a real turn off!) then finding good looking actors that could actually ACT! It was like when you were in English class and that one kid that everyone knew could not read very well, had to stand in front of the class and read his book report. You know that feeling you got? Well, that is how I felt when just about anyone had to say anything.

3. ANNOYING SUPPORTING CAST!

OH BOY, where can I begin with them? Those so called friends in that so called high school. Where did the producers do their research? One after the other of these kids was so hyper, sooo trying too hard to be funny, cleaver or cute it was like a cup of sweet and low, hold the cream hold the coffee.

To close this out, I know a movie does not always do a good job following a book but for the most part, the story was just about the same. They had a really good book to work from so they really could not go wrong there. I do think they did not make Edward as gorgeous as he was written in the book I mean yes, He was suppose to be pale, he is a vampire but he looked more like a weak Billy Idol. In fact, the whole Collins clan did not look their jaw dropping beautiful selves in my book.
All in all, I know this was a teen based movie and I am for sure not a teen so I guess to most dewy eyed young girls this was a hit. I understand that but I did read the book and I did enjoy it so I was looking to enjoy this as well but that was not to be.
If you went to see it. Do tell, what did you think?

I haven't seen the movie yet. I keep going back and forth with myself, trying to decide if I want to. I LOVE the entire series, own all four books, and have read them several times. I hate when movies just tear a book apart, and don't tell the true story. I didn't want to have that happen with this movie, since I love the books so much

You are right, it is all about how we look at things differently. The movie was just not for me. Now, if it was a rental or came on cable. I would not have minded it so much but I just did not think it was up to what I expected to see in a movie theater. Maybe, I was too harsh but I really don't see myself going out to see the coming movies. Reading the books on the other hand, I enjoyed very much.

Well i read what you said about how its for "dewy eyed young girls" and that is basically what I am I suppose. Lol, I'm 16, and I absolutely loved the movie.
Although I did not read Twilight until after I saw the movie, my opinion may have been different if i would have done it in reverse order.. but I doubt it. Rob Pattinson is just plain gorgeous.. well, for me anyways.

You're 16! I think if I was 16 and this movie came out I would have LOVED IT! You're right, Rob is cute but too much makeup for me in this movie. Oh well, enjoy it, you're only 16 once.

Ok so I left a comment on the main page. But I am going to leave a different type of comment here. Like another person. I always see the movies first. Reason being sort of what Kat said. You cant be dissapointed with the book if you watch the movie first. So I always do them in reverse order. So many people my brother always being one of them. Always told me when I was younger. The book was better then the movie. So my theory. Watch the movie then read the book. Nothing to be dissapointed about. :P

As for the movie because I saw the movie first and have yet to read the book. I will say as some I had a different opinion. Although I will say this the first T-shirts that I saw in Hot Topic made me repulsive to my stomache to even think of watching the movie. Although I will say I quite enjoyed the movie for the simple fact that I felt I had nothing to compare it to.

As for Edward in the movie. I do agree his lips were quite red. But that is like also what some other have said. Preference. I honestly thought it was hot. Due to I don't know what it is I have always like the Gothic Vampire type looking guys.

The Girlfriend of Edward. At the beginning and even towards the end. I honestly thought they could have picked a prettier girl. That is my opinion. Maybe she wasn't supposed to be that pretty to make him look better looking. As most of you seem to say he was supposed to be God's gift to women. Which is the role that they portrayed him as.

As for what I call the side show actors the girl. That was well sort of Bella's friend. I don't even know her name. But the girl that got asked to the prom as the guy that originally asked bella. She annoyed the crap out of me. She was what I thought of as a total ham. Actor. I mean if that was her role was is to be annoying and gossip queen she did well. As for the other so called girls that were friends ehh. I barely paid attention to them.

The indian reservation kid. Seemed well honestly really desperate in my opinion. Granted he was not god's gift to women like Edward. But still. Having your dad tell this girl you like oh he was bugging me to come here. Come on. Could you lay the cheese on any thicker. Just a thought.

I will say overall I liked the movie but there were definitely some really cheesey lovey dovey wtf moments.
