Do you ever think at times that teen geeks are look over because of their age , I mean i personally always get a surprised look form older adults for running a site and web-show i guess you would call it. Teens are becoming bigger and bigger in the community and should be given more opportunities I mean I personally started at around 11 years old and now i'm 13 and run a 1,500+ sub youtube base and partnership etc. We as teens to me should be given more opportunities in the real world , over the internet theres many opportunities as i think the real world should be. If we have the knowledge to work etc I believe we should be given a chance more often. Recently I've been offered a IT job at the summer hire program for my ISP. Maybe its just me ? What do you all think ?

I Agree Teen geeks needs to do more in the Tech World because many Teenagers have more knowledge about Computers than Adults. For Example an 8 Year Old kid (i believe he is 8) is an App Store Developer. BTW: I´m 13 too.

Is think that is an amazing point. I, (14), would love to have some sort of a Saturday or summer job online, or doing anything tech-savvy, I don't care even if they give me minimum pay, because its money and thats that. (Because we don't pay bills :) yet :/) But I think its a great point and should be spread around. (But I hate mowing the lawn)

oh absolutely, I have Aspergers Syndrome, which helps boost my computer knowledge, but i still get surprised looks from even my friend and parents when i show them a new piece of coding, although, who could blame them, I am 14 after all

I totally agree. I personally get a surprised look from my friends and family when I tell them that I make hundreds of dollars a month using the internet by designing websites. They are always surprised when they hear that I get free stuff from companies to review on my youtube channel.

I'm all for it. Teens who show they can be responsible and productive SHOULD be recognized! Unfortunately the norm, or main stream (bulk) are slackers that all they want to do is MySpace and Twitter and mooch off mom and dad. SO, the hard part is overcoming that image of a 'standard' teen.

Also, on the other side of the coin I see a number of old retired folk (60's thru 80's) that haven't tossed in the towel yet and want to embrace computers and technology as well. They also should be recognized.

Maybe the thing to do would be to pool your resources and start a website that would be geared towards this very thing, allowing contacts and getting the word out to people who would be interested, forming an alliance of sorts.

That's a great idea. I completely agree.

Most of the people at my school are really immature, but if the mature teens could prove themselves, we could be recognized.

I'm 13 years old. Just like Adrian I've got an offer for a regular staff member job in my local internet cafe. I now assist the technician for CPUs. From a regular caddy girl in the corner to a CPU repairing technician assitant. :)
