There is that, I suppose. I'll say, it was a little shorter than I might have liked. My husband and I saw it in the theater. The voices aren't all done by the actors from the live-action movies but they are amazingly on. The only voice that was off for me was Senator Amidala. I thought that it had good action and I enjoyed that it showcases a lot of the alien races that I feel we don't see nearly enough of in the movies. I would say, shop around, if you can find a good deal, get it. Or, see if you can rent it. Check it out and then decide.
Even though George Lucas has said he won't do any more Star Wars trilogies (because they take nearly a decade to complete), there have been rumors of a Post Endore trilogy to form Episodes 7, 8, and 9. I initially was excited at the prospect since I was a huge fan of Timothy Zahn's novels that introduced Grand Admiral Thrawn as a tactical genius who was gathering the remnants of the Empire back together to try to take down the New Republic, re-instate the cloning process, and revive the Empire. However, the Screen Play's that have leaked indicate that if 7, 8, and 9 are made, it would actually take place a long after that and happen after Luke has a well established Jedi academy. On one hand, it is sad to think that the Zahn trilogy would be skipped, but I agree that the age of the actors would not fit into a story that takes place right after Jedi and they would have to be placed in a story that happens a generation later anyway.
What are your thoughts?
Also, Lucas Film has been talking about a TV mini series that would take place between episodes 3 and 4 to fill in the gaps a bit, show the growing power and tyranny if the Emperor, and even though it would follow minor characters, cameos of major characters and some back story to various characters not covered in episodes 1 - 3 would be touched on. Since it's proposal, I have heard nothing. I'd love to see this come to be and follow the early years of the Rebellion, and even see a series that covers the Zahn trilogy. Then, I would be more open to an additional trilogy set in the distant future from the battle of Endor.
A: The answer is "maybe." George Lucas has metioned several times that it would be "fun" to bring back the original characters and do another trilogy, but there hasn't been any confirmation.
