Hi Brigitta. I was being a bit smart-alecky; there are many well-adjusted humans who are way smarter than I am; however, I've also observed significant numbers of situations where the "best and brightest" get worked to the grindstone while the "popular kids" take the credit, promotions, and the cash in the work environment. I know that sounds jaded and I wish the data I've observed didn't support that perspective; but it does. Nevertheless, I'm always pressing forward to encourage innovation and creativity throughout life's journey. So, am I jaded? Yes. Am I optimistic? Yes. Guess that makes me a bit of a Jaded Optimist? ;-)

I do consider myself an intellectual and a geek, but I've had the good fortune to generally find myself surrounded by...well, my "own kind," I suppose. Enough, anyway, that Michael Silverton's use of the term "The Normals" shocked me just a little. Am I really the only smart person not horribly traumatized by high school?

Come on smarties, let's DUMB IT DOWN in here! If we're so smart, how come we haven't figured out that The Normals just don't trust us and use our impossible desire to Fit In as leverage to pay us half their salary whilst doing twice their work, eh? :-/
