There are some decent places to go. LOL~! The library. Um, my friend told me about this site called Meetup.com it's pretty cool. You can join groups that actually hold meetups based on your interests!

The only place I ever get to go is Starbucks, and in 6 years of going nearly daily, I've met three women. The first two disappeared after a few weeks of steady visits. The other I've known for over a year now and is a enough of a friend I was able to add her to Facebook... I've been drooling over her SO hard, but she's 12 years younger AND just got into a relationship with someone. She's moving away in June, and I'll never see her again.

I just don't have any activities that I do where there are girls around, and when there are, I'm too shy (or uninteresting) to meet anyone. =( /single tear streams down cheek =P

I'm starting to look seriously at russianwives.com or asianbrides.com. (I jest!)

I do believe that. Because i met one great friend and someone special to my heart now from an old computer club. And still today we are great friends. It's the best place to find someone who share the same interests and you can learn from them.

Which is why a few of us in cleveland is joining together to start a new club. Best way to meet knew people.

Offline? As in go outside? I don't know sounds scary to me, especially in the day time what with the sun and everything. I think I prefer to meet girls the same way I do anything else in my life. Download them off the internet. Anyone know of a site I can do that?

The bad part about where I live is that when you go to any type of computer convention or anything like that, 98% of the women there are twitter/myspace/facebook fanatics and can't tell a processor unit from a stick of RAM, and the other 2% are already married/engaged/or interested in the same gender. Thus, it's rather hard to meet other geek women in my area...

Then again, there is more to a geek than tech, so that may also be the reason I'm still single. :P

awwww I have heard not many girls/women are into "whats under the hood" in computers..I've been called a "rare breed" by some people because I drool over video expansion cards and stuff and actually think learning programming is FUN. :P

i'm completely convinced there are no geek girls in my area (lol the boonies of alaska) specially since i know dang near 80% of the people that live here... i'm soooooooo ready to move at the first sight of an awesome geeky girl... lol i've already visited 5 possibilities around the US (last year i went to minnesota and las vegas) only to find out 1 had a boyfriend that she didn't tell me about (that was hard to swallow since we had been talking for bout 7 years previous and while i was there i stayed with them at his house....) and the other 1 had a friend wouldn't leave her place until i came back up here then he never talked to her again.... lol been single for 5 years now... lol last gf i had lived in nova scotia visited her a few times but it just didn't work out since she got back with her previous ex.... i'm beginning to think internet is not the way to go for me, but there's really just no places to find anyone in my area... i'd like to say conventions n stuff but as darwin said, most of them aren't really geeks, or are the other 2%... quite frankly i'm at an utter loss. lol
