could you list the types of rock? im new to rock i would like to see what types there are any what bands fall into.
and which do i fall into? :)
these are the bands/songs i like.

Linkin Park
Paramore (fav)
Skillet (fav)
metallica (the day that never comes)
slipknot (only some i like)
Evanescence
Avril Lavgine (old songs only)
TATU (even though there not really rock)

i would probably say you fall into new age rock but really dont try to categorize yourself cause if you do you might end up on missing out on something you like .

i know i just just wondered. everyone says they like alternative or heavy or metal i just like to say what i like easier :D

i would say, dont look at genres or subgenres, but look for what is the best of different genres. you'll find so much, for example, many rockers are also intriged by the classic 'carmina burana'.
