Now that the Senate has its Offishul 60th Clown - it is more than important than ever that YOU, call your Senators tomorrow and request that they vote AGAINST Crap & Tax - Cap & Trade). This is beyond a doubt one of the worst pieces of legislation that I can remember. And I have been paying attention since 1968.

Maybe you have discerned that I am Against it. Yep. Regardless, hell even if you are in favor, call your Senators. The vote in the House shows a JOKE. _But for_ the Republican switchers, this would not have passed. Period. And they are RINOs. Just looking out to be reelected next year.

As an Energy Economist since 1972 (BS & MA in Economics), this is a farce. A joke. Were the entire world to be affected, maybe it might make sense. And who knows, Obamessiah may just be Dictator of the world in short order.

But he is not yet. And China, India and all of Africa is NOT affected by Kyoto or any of this. Yet, our $ may go overseas to pay for Crap & Tax.

FWIW, I beleive that Green stuff makes sense. But when controlled by markets - not dictators, czars and overzealous politicians.

I'm thinking that something needs to be done about all these people in office that have NO CLUE about economics - yet they manage the country's economy.
Are we gonna have to amend the constitution to say that officials elected to nationwide office will need to hold a degree in economics or something? Maybe they should..

It would help if 60 % or whatever it is of them were NOT lawyers. But if we required them to be economist, heaven forbid they would all be liberal economists from Princeton & Harvard.

yep, true on both points. No Keynesian economists wanted - I'd rather them follow after Milton Friedman (or Walter Williams!).

You are a bright young man. Or Thomas Sowell (ever heard him and Walter Williams exchange thoughts?), Frederick a. von Hayek, Ludwig von Mises, etc. When they join Congress, they should be required to read 4 things. 1) The Bible 2) The Constitution, 3) Altas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, and all bills that come before Congress.

No, I haven't heard of Sowell, nor he and Williams together ... but my granddad bought tickets for himself, my dad, and me to go hear Williams speak in September at a nearby university. I'm excited :)
I might add to your list of required readings The Law by Frederic Bastiat.

Enjoy yourself - he is brialiant. I don't think that I am familiar with Bastiat .... wait, maybe...:-))
Dr. Sowell is another black conservative economist VERY bright. Williams has a better sense of humor.
