At most you could upgrade to 2gigs of memory. Your motherboard does not support more than that.
There is a big difference between 1 and 2 gigs especially for with Photoshop and video editing because the files are loaded into memory for editing. If you don't have enough memory it uses the hard disk for "extra" memory and it is very very slow.
Yeah..,. if you have a nice case and a good PSU you can just pull the guts. Its a pain, but a sad reality for computers. I can help you price out some good stuff on NewEgg if you need help.
Definitely making a good choice here :-) Since you already have the case, you could buy a much better computer than what you have for a few hundred dollars. Not cheap, I know, but definitely better than it once was! I built a really good gaming rig for only $700, which was unheard of even 5 years ago.

Dude you have no idea. . . money has been crazy tight and I am so desperately in need to upgrade my system. Especially to better get the feel of a dual monitor set up. I love my computer but it is time for change. . .
Thanks for the recommendations. . I am finally getting settled in my new home. . so this is will be the first thing on my list to do . . . nothing means more than a new system in a new house. . .
