Also for those who use amd, amd motherboards won't turn off if ever the system overheated, in fact Amd's will continue to burn until it's up in flames. Intel however has motherboards that won't shut off the computer but reduces the speed till cooling is reastablished. If the cpu coninues to overheat then it will shut down.

My cpu runs at stock clock speed, it's a E4500 Core2Duo socket Lga775. The motherboard has no clock settings but it atomatically overclocks during games/ benchmarks. The graphics card whih is a ATI Radeon HD 4870 xxx Edition is factory overclocked but Can go higher through the software (I didn't even need it to go higher!) Here is my system.

Hiya, just so you know, you CANT unlock a locked bios. you will need to get a new mobo.
I recommend a core 2 duo e6750 as it overclocked so well.
Here is a quote i wrote from one of the forums:
"I love overclocking, always have done it, for example, my CPU is a core 2 due e6750 2.66Ghz, a few days ago, i jumped it up to 3.87Ghz and that was on air. Now it is running 3.2 for normal/gaming use when i get watercooling, i will go higher and beat my record."
Trey's recommendation is a good one, get that mobo with a core 2 duo and you will notice the difference.
I have a 3.2 Pentium D in a box and they don't overclock very well, they get hot and unstable to easy.

Grab a Gigabyte motherboard from Newegg and a nice 2.Xghz Core2 processor and you should be set with a 20-30% increase in performance before any OC'ing, for about $150.

If I'm not mistaken, you can't do anything about a locked BIOS. Oh, and you'd need a 8.0GHz Pentium D to equal my 3.2GHz Core 2 Duo, so you may want to look into those.

This could also have a troubleshooting guide, right? I can't OC my 3.2 GHz Pentium D, because my BIOS is locked. Could you help?
