@ Persian Paladin: I believe this discussion was about remembering and respect, at least thats what I read, not about conspiracy theories.

I watched a 2 hour documentary of this last night on National Geographic Channel, interviews of people that were in the buildings, eye witnesses, rescue personell, relatives and loves ones of those that didn't make it. It was pretty heart wrenching. It was truth from real people who lived thru it.

I remember I was at work that morning and the news came over the radio, almost everyone at the same time said "terrorist attack", some people were in tears. later in the day a friend of mine said, "I'm sure was Usama Bin Laden", from that point forth I got very educated on Laden. Turned out my friend was right.

It was evening I believe, and I was already in bed. The next morning, I'm told that there's no school and we should watch the news. I was 7 but I knew it was bad.
My 2 aunts were in a subway nearby, and could have been stuck there. School the next day was weird. The whole day, practically nobody spoke.
I live in Holland and that day started a chain of new security measures in our school. Now we have fences, ID badges to get in the school, lots of Security Guards, the whole lot.

I remember I was my high school English class and then all of a sudden all the teachers were getting calls and emails to turn on the tvs and check the news. Everyone in my class was just stupified at what happened. Most of us just sat there watching the news and no one spoke a word. Later on some of the students that had family who were flying that day called home to make sure if they were all safe.
It really was a life changing event for everyone who lived in the US

I remember this day. I was at my Mothers work place just sitting there bored. All of a sudden breaking news spread all across TV, we had one at her work at the time. It was unbelievable, this was actually happening so fast. My family was lucky because no one was there that day. I still think of this event all the time, especially after I watched the movie baste off of it. September 11th is close by on the calender and we always have a remembrance ceremony for it.
