No slander of other operating systems; Just why do you Like it?
I personally use Windows Vista and Windows 7. I Like windows 7 a lot better than my windows Vista, but still. I use both of them for compatability with the work I need to do for my networking degree.
Getting a Mac reasonably soon for said networking degree; but Looking forward to that as well.
Virtually run (or attempted to) FreeBSD, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE 11.1 and Crunchbang
ok i use leopard as main it is good, fast and responsive, my 2 laptops have vista home basic and the other has home premium and i have used windows 7 and ubuntu on the one laptop as primary after i erased vista off. I'll like ubuntu a lot more when 9.10 is released, not keen on windows 7 however it is good. Vista has to be my fave atm probly becuase i put it back on the laptop yesterday and havent used vista in a while
right now im using windows xp because it lays things out better for me and doesn't have any bloat. im considering getting a mac book though. i love osx but its not practical or legal to put a hackintosh on my pc. considering most the work i do is best on windows but for an internet laptop a base white macbook would be great. i will NOT get a netbook. they're cheap for a reason. only have 9 inch screens, 1gb of ram, come on.
Well, I love the absolute power behind **NIX based operating systems, but webkit browsers kinda suck on Linux at the moment, among other things I like to use (my TV Tuner card and mIRC.)
I've been looking at getting a Mac - Because OS X has Powerful UNIX backend, with an interface that can cater to the New User and the Power User Alike.
Linux is free, and if the truth were known, installing some Distros are even easier and less time consuming to install than Windows. And they play nice in the sand box, so it's easy to set them up to dual boot and leave a Windows install untouched. But Windows won't do the same, so Windows has to be installed first, or else it destroys the GRUB menu of what OS you want to run.
I'm switching to Mac OS X as my primary OS, if only to expand my horizons in my choice of operating system after using XP, Vista, and Ubuntu. Not only that, but I simply love the look and feel of the Mac environment, and really feel that I'll be getting a lot of use out of the platform.
Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.7) - Powerful, yet simple to use. My personal favourite. I use this most of the time.
Ubuntu 9.04 with some netbook remix's components - lightweight, works well on my netbook. It's okay, could be better. Almost as good as leopard on the power part, but usage simplicity is poor.
My favorite OS is ubuntu but I am running vista home premium on my laptop because i am a casual gamer. On the computer i am building, I am putting Vista ultimate. I considered ubuntu but the one thing that stops me is gaming.
