I am 100% behind any mac/apple group, but it has to have a purpose such as promoting apple products, helping switchers, or any number of other topics related to Apple. Is there more to this group than a chance to win something? If there isn't I wouldn't turn down any free mac stuff headed my way. Free is good.
The seed of change is upon us, and those who use Windows based machines will now have a reason to switch. I am a pc person, and I have always wanted to switch to mac, but money is always an issue with switching. I love Apple hardware, and I love OS X, but being that I can't afford such a glorious system I have been ignoring the need to change. So now I might now have a motive to actually get myself a mac. So bring on the freebies!!! :-D
Well as far as affordability goes you can get a fairly recent edition mac on ebay or buy a refurbished one like I did. Consider that a mac will last far longer on average than the low cost windows machine. I have an G3 imac that I updated to 10.4 and still use off and on today. Get the most up to date mac you can afford and it will last many years.
Well i love macs. Apple is doing a great job, but I can't keep up with them. I have one of the older "black books" but todays macbooks are aluminium. I wish i could get one of these.. In any case free software is always welcome. And yes I think that this might make people switch.
Do not be obsessed with owning the latest computer. I bought a imac aluminum at the beginning of 2007 and look what they did to me. No sooner did I buy it then they up graded the processor and bus speed. Now I hear that they will again upgrade the imac.
If your computer does everything you need it to do then it is just fine. I went from a G3 imac to an aluminum one. I plan on keeping both for some time. They both work and perform for what I need them for just fine.
> Robert R: because we don't buy computers just for a weekend, because we don't mean using computers is running after solving problems, because we don't like taking risks on our most important jobs, year after year we finally find out that the Mac is cheaper than any WinPC!
This said through a 1999 Lombard keyboard, let me welcome you to the Mac community!
