Schizophrenia not responsible
Especially for those diagnosed with having Schizophrenia, it is not Schizophrenia that is responsible for the hallucinations ! There are 2 states of mind relating to "normal" sleep patterns which could be a key role however, hypnopompic & hypnogogic, before & after sleep occurs. The following link however describes the role of Schizophrenia

Found this @ wiki... (Hearing_Voices_Movement)
"INTERVOICE is critical of psychiatry in relation to the way the profession generally understands and treats people who hear voices and holds that their research has led them to the position that schizophrenia is an unscientific and unhelpful hypothesis which should be abandoned."

Importance of Melatonin
If like me are diagnosed with having schizophrenia and suffer from irregular sleep patterns... as chemical medication can have harmful effects, there probably is a herbal alternative. For those that suffer loss of sleep / insomnia, or irregular sleep patterns... melatonin can greatly help. In the link provided, as a good tea can contain St. John's Wort, as it's melatonin count is 4,390 ! Compared with Sunflower seed that contains only 29.

An article explaining more on melatonin, and how it can help even those who have poor eye sight.

Putting to the test
These days my sleep patterns have leveled out to being pretty normal. As I take Clozapine, the only symptom these days is not being able to get my feet out of bed. Although I unfortunately don't have the hypnopompic or hypnogogic states of sleep. So I shall certainly be putting St. John's wort to the test, along with another herb called calea zacatechichi, which is a dream herb. Shall post my findings.

Black hole effact
How can schizophrenia be like a black hole ?...

Relax with Chocolate
The following article is great for schizophrenics that like chocolate, even though it doesn't mention schizophrenia... Boosting Brain Power -- With Chocolate Dark chocolate is of course better than white (dairy), and with a consumption of chamomile tea, can do wonders for people with schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is similar to having a bipolar disorder, at times when there is a lot of information for the brain to process, it, in a manner of speaking goes "schizo". Both dark chocolate & chamomile tea, work with certain receptors of the brain with can ease the load (stress). These are also linked to dopamine levels, known as the "feel good factor". However, it does not cure the root of the problem, which is loss of relativity.

Help I have rights, get me out of here !

I'm usually a herbal person, I believe in nature & not creating a man made monstrosity, and therefore I definitely prefer finding a herbal alternative than what chemical tablets can offer. Chemic…

If that works then that works. At this stage believing in flying pigs is a worthwhile options if it gives some peace.

Thinking about belief being the key. Why wouldn't believing in a chemical medication work just as well ?

It certainly is hard to convince yourself anything that something might not be. There needs to be proof of course, any, even the slightest of proof can go a long way. I managed to convince myself enough that things were leaving, and as you say it certainly takes a lot to do, but is worth it in some way.

Have you managed to overcome the whole thing yet ?

If I train my brain to think 'it's a hypnogogic experience' the it's not frightening in the same way as thinking ' fuck, there's someone stood next to the bed and I can't seem to move'. Not easy but worth it.

learning about hypnogogic and hypnopompic states made a big difference to my experience of them. Sometimes its not the events but how I interpret tham that makes a difference. *hi*
