Some are bitter, and it's true we belgians (males) like it. But for our woman or persons who don't like the bitter taste we also have sweet tastes like kriek...
(and I'm not a woman, but the liefmans kriek mjjjammm)

Duvel is 9%,
one of the strongest is kasteelbier (brown and blond) it's 12%, kasteel means castle...

8% is nothing, try Gordon Platinum about 11% :D and it doesn't taste good...
