It's nice to see people energized and eager for the election. I used to be pretty active in local politics and always volunteered for campaigns, but pretty much stopped that in 2000. My little girl has been an Obama fance since about July of last year and while it took me awhile to get onboard, I'm here. She's excited about the chance to volunteer for the campaign, so I'm reconnecting with old contacts to see what I can do locally.
I'm wondering if anyone here is volunteering or doing anything to get Obama elected. If so, what are you doing? What's the most creative thing you've been a part of? Do you have any tips for 5 year olds?
Check out this video to help spread the truth on this market meltdown.
It gives you a great understanding about how Obama will handle the situation. Spread the word!
It needs to happen, period. Without it our market will easily fall to the ground. Large companies are buying out other large companies. This could be really, really bad.
Laissez-faire in this case will cause huge problems and put us under as a whole. It's as simple as that. I believe the bail-out plan is worth it's weight in gold. I also firmly believe it will play out.
Sorry to let you know but our market has already failed. The reason it has failed is because of the tentecals of the government have invaded the top levels of all the top financial firms.
I always thought Ron Paul was a loon but he is the one that has gotten this right. Government intervention is exactly what got us into this problem! Government intervention will NOT get us out of this.
If this bailout happens the result will be a short-term extension of the meltdown and a prolonged recovery period.
Yes, my daughter fell in love with Obama during an debate in July '07. She was so jealous when I saw him in Chicago and asked me if I told him that she would like to play with his kids. Cute. Since then, she's been on me to vote for him. He was not my first choice (Dodd), but he was a distant 2nd.
So, while I was in Chicago, I got her a button. I've taken her to see Michelle Obama speak and she has a sign. Uh...we're not Latino, we just live in a Latino neighborhood:
This is when we went to vote in the primaries. She wants to do door-to-door canvassing, but I'm not good at that and I know that she'll clam up if I took her.
I respond to anyone spreading the smears. I spread the truth, and the message of hope and REAL change.
And of course the bumper stickers, buttons, and eventually a yard sign when they come in!
I also talk about the issues, not the lipstick on dogs, or whatever crap is out there. I even asked off for the night of the election so I can watch the results come in that night!
I Just came back from a rally in Ohio with Obama. He is truly a great leader and speaker. During the the rally I called 10 phone numbers to talk to them about supporting Obama and voting early (allowed in Ohio). I want to support him online so I visit web sites and watch and rate videos to populate them. I would like to get more involved and work with others to have a greater impact. Does anyone think this will work? If so tell me how.
