Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I have been listening to some of the music people suggested on the wall, which I was unaware of, and the suggestions are brilliant. Keep posting your favorite tracks and I'm glad to see so many people showing interest.

Album/Track this week
Games are a lot like movies. They now have huge budgets to make them look as good as they can be and play like nothing else. The quality in cut scenes in games has greatly increased over the last few years, and with the rise in cut scenes brings the need for more music.
There are countless games with great music in cutscenes which suits the mood and feel perfectly. One that may go overlooked is the game Heavenly Sword. This soundtrack was written by Nitin Sawhney. The music gives a great feel to the game. The amount of different styles used is incredible and shows the genius it takes to combine all these genres. To get the sense of how varied it is you do need to listen to more than one of the tracks. There is a startling difference between the tracks. Give it a listen and tell me what you think!

Then you will probably love this game. The thing that I was really surprised by in this games was how good the music was. Does any one else like this piece of music playing? I love flash games and probably play them more than my consoles at the moment. What do you think?

It is an instrumental of the great Castlevania Theme. Breaking the usual classical stuff this was done by Cradle of Filth. I think this is a great rendition of this and everyone should take a listen! You can hear it at

Killzone 2 Behind the Music ScenesThe spectacular orchestral piece written for Killzone 2 has released a documentary about how they wrote the music and go into all the detail about recording it. It was written by Joris de Man and he takes us through the writing and recording process. Absolutely brilliant for people to see who don't know what goes into game music. The documentary is found on Gamespot at

Just saw this band that writes music like the good old styles and plays them off an edited SNES. I listened to some of their tunes and after that immediately went and bought their album. I put one of their tracks on my page. Check them out if you haven't heard of them. They are called Anamanaguchi. College Humor just interviewed them if you are wondering where I noticed them. Check them out and comment
If you haven't yet check out my blog asking for musicians to help with a cool new project. Also since I may not be able to update the group in the next 2 weeks (hopefully I will) I will do next weeks Tracks now
The Theme to Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite old soundtracks. There are so many versions of the main theme to this great piece of music. It was covered in the 5th Orchestral Game Concert. Both Songs are on my Profile. Please listen to the original and the modern one. It is great to hear the contrast!
Zelda Ocarina of Time LoversNoticing that someone mentioned Zelda the Orchestral Game Concert does have a version of all the Ocarina songs written to fit into to one long flowing song. This does sound absoultley brilliant to anyone who is a fan of the Zelda music. There is more of this stuff if anyone would like some more information on it please message me!
To all tech people out there, does anyone know a way I can upload the music straight to the group page?
