Google much anticipated and hype Chrome OS is now fully operational and ready for battle, this could be Windows worst nightmare. This is the future of the web. Technology and Web.
I can understand how this can be a threat to Microsoft Windows, but seriously: who's gonna use it? Its the new left fielder, and nobody has his card yet. As in, it has low compatability. As a brickfilmer, I don't now if my Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 will work. Same with my Logitech Mic, Sony Vegas, Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop - the lost could go on.

I don't think that Chrome OS is designed to replace the OS you're currently using on the machine you're currently using - at least, not just yet. As more and more apps become web-based I reckon more and more people will save themself the bother of maintaining a WIndows installation and switch over.
One of the problems of new OS' is the lack of support for many desktop programs.
Isn't Chrome OS basically an OS on top of a web browser? I doubt it would cause enough of a damage to the market. To do any damage to Windows, Google would need a lot of support from companies, as I suspect the reason for Apple to not defeat Microsoft is because so many companies use Windows and MS Office, not because the OS is bad.
I am still curious to see how to OS runs though.
Chrome OS is not an OS on top of a web browser, or at least how your wording puts it. Chrome OS will be built on top of a Linux Kernel. Its not being built on top of a web browser, but instead, its being built to have its focus centered around the web browser.
I see. If Chrome OS is going to be focused around the browser, would there be open source desktop programs, or desktop at all? They may come up with something different from desktop. Who knows? I'm looking forward to seeing what Google developers are going to do.
