I would love to own my own business. I'm currently working on a business degree in university and hope to one day be the owner of a business that accomplishes something I am passionate about.
I'm sure that here at Geeks, there are a number of entrepreneurs. People who either own, or have owned there own business as well as those that have created subindustries within the industry they work.
I wish to ask a few things to these people. What made you want to start your own business? How did you go about doing it? What type of business are you? What difficulties have you faced? What pleasure do you derive from it? What qualifications do you have? I'm sure there are a number of other questions I could ask, so if you think of anything more you think I would be interested in, please share.

Thanks Kevin! I love sleeping in. I think so much better at night so I stay up to late then I sleep late. I was on a normal schedule for about a week till Geeks came along now I am back to staying up late.
I had to start taking my sister to high school so I had to get up. I was going to bed my 1am and getting up at 7:30. Now I am staying up till almost 5am, sleeping for 2 hours taking her to school then going back to sleep for another 6 hours.
Everyone makes me feel bad for it. "Not being normal"
I hate normal. I like to be weird...
What made me start my own business? Plain and simple, I wanted to be on my own. The thought of that makes some people sick, not having the security of a normal paycheck, but for some reason, I like it. It challenges me to think. How did I go about doing it? Well, I have owned several businesses (brick and mortar) and now I am trying to succeed at this making money online thing. So, how I go about doing it changes daily. What type of business am I? Well, I ran a construction company for years and now have a damaged body, so I have dabbled in several online businesses with no super success yet, however, I am making the bills and am always trying to make more money. What difficulties have I faced? Well, it seems as though everyday brings a new difficulty when running your own business. That is pretty much the constant obstacle of running your own business. One thing for sure is, you will always have a wall to get around, or a mountain to climb. PERIOD. What pleasure do I derive from it? The pleasure of knowing that I and I alone are in control of what my outcome in life is. And the fact that I can make my own rules and schedules, to an extent. You will always have obligations that have to be attended to. What qualifications do I have? Well, in the world of internet marketing, my qualifications are not that great, most of my qualifications have come from trial and error and learning from my own mistakes. In the construction industry, my qualifications are quite a bit (to much to list). If I could give one piece of advice it is that one thing about running your own business you must know is that, you can not be afraid of the unknown. No amount of schooling, or education will prepare you. You can't tell yourself, well, I can't do it yet because I'm not ready! With that attitude you will never be ready. And for the most part, you won't be ready. You have to dive in, and learn to improvise and have your wits about you. Running your own business is a personality type. Some people have what it takes, some are happy to work for someone else. Let me know if that helped. AJ

Even though I have a full-time job as a Programmer Analyst, one of my hobbies has been writing children's stories. I took my hobby and I spent the last 10 months collaborating with my best friend on a superhero novel for young adults, and now the book is on the verge of getting published! We're self-publishing, but we know we're going to sell a bunch of books and we're looking forward to making enough money from our royalties to cover the publishing cost for our second book!
Hey Guys! I was cruising my usual sites earlier today and low and behold, BAM! I came across a guy who actually knows his stuff. I am a non believer in people sales pitches and I don't buy peoples junk.
However, this guy knows his stuff. He is selling basically a how to, but he is different than the rest. He has awesome information. His page was so good, I said OK, I'll give in just this once. I bought the course. I just started putting some of the methods into effect about 3 hours ago and I am already getting awesome results.
This is truly a place you will get your moneys worth.
Just let me say this, the course and the books cost me $97 and I have already made that back in 3 hours.
No Bull. It's not a get rich quick scheme. He is a talented marketer with some awesome techniques. I set my website up so you can check it out.
