Download Our Windows 7 Tips!

It was announced way back in February of 2008 that Sling Media and RIM were working on enabling the Sling Mobile software to work on the BlackBerry.

Until the day before yesterday I had been waiting for this ability to come to pass.
I have the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition with Verizon as the Provider. Three days ago RIM came out with a Firmware update and I downloaded and installed it. My 8830 is now at version 4.5.0.138.

After installing the new Firmware I immediately called Sling Media Support and they had me, via my BlackBerry, go to their download site and attempt to see if my BB was supported. I found out that it was not.

I am a Member of the Sling Media Forums and found that if I were to send myself an Email with an Embedded URL that I could download the Sling Mobile software to see if it would work. I did this and was successful.

I can now control the TV and DVR in my home and remotely view it via my BlackBerry.
