Problems with preferences

I have tried at least 6 times to change my SETI screensaver background to a Hubble image but it will not take. The field on my prefereces page reverts to the default (none) as soon as I hit Udate. Explanation at Boinc Q and A was no help. I have made sure Java is enabled and have even tried in different browsers.

Permalink Reply by JT on February 1, 2009 at 9:49pm: Did you download and install the latest version of BOINC? It's at v6.4.5 right now (I just looked). There were many problems with the earlier versions (for almost a year). Where it had the exact problem that you were describing. You can also go to their Website and signon with your User ID and set the preferences there and then save it and logoff. You then go into BOINC Manager and click the Projects tab and highlight your Project and then click update. It will then synchronize the Preferences that you just set on their Web Site.; ▶ Reply to This
