So I downloaded and installed Windows 7 and I was just letting it sit there and then all of a sudden the screen dimmed. I tried bumping up the brightness, but nothing worked. Then, I moved the mouse and then it was bright again! Mac OS X has had this feature for so long and now Windows has it too! Ahhh!
Well, I'm just saying it's something that Mac OS X has had for years, and Windows just introduced. I do agree that it's a great way to save power and I wished that Windows had this before, but I just noticed it.
Operating systems aren't designed in a vacuum. (Ok, some of them are, for legal purposes, but still.) OSs borrow from each other all the time, the same as any product borrows from those that came before it. There is very little true innovation, and of what remains, much of it is finding new and novel ways to combine things that have already been discovered or designed. It doesn't necessarily constitute theft, outside of some pretty specific circumstances, so it's usually not that big a deal.
