For me it's likely hand's down to my computer for a number of reasons.

But i could also say My Playstation 3 being that it is an 8-core system, despite it only using 7, i believe sony disabled a core. or gave 1 core to the Operating system.
Beating my computer because it only has 4 cores at 3.6ghz, and the Ps3 has 8-core (7 for gaming) at 3.2ghz, however it's graphics witch are based from nvidia's 7800GTX (Massively upgraded im sure) do not match the graphic power in my computer, but i'm sure my ps3 can do everything im doing on my computer game wize. So for piece of hardware

it goes to Cell broadbrand (Ps3)
For technology, heh my computer rig.

What bout you guys/girls.

Remember that games played on computers are capable of much higher resolutions then Playstation, requiring still more power (technology) to yield that resolution.

Most powerful hardware in my house, it would be my current computer, since we don't have a great deal of technology here, followed by my sons X-box 360, and some of his many ham radios.

Well dan i spoke of mostly the Ps3's cpu, being extremely powerful, though were going to see 8-cores on computers pretty soon, we alrdy have in some cases like Chris's computer, but for more ...general use, chris's pc is like a Workstation, AMD has 6-cores available right now.

but i spoke my Ps3 on CPU ( Power wize ) it's an all in one i have ran Windows Vista on my Ps3, just Fine to be serious with you. It's funny. however i took it off, it won't do to much with an OS anyways thats why sony removed it with the slims. Linux is fine on it but windows and Mac OS X both had Driver Issues, being the hardware was very incompatible.

But graphics wize, my computer, hell my 56 Inch Plasma is a 3 million contrast ratio 600Mhz Beast, put that up to my PS3, and I Don't know if my 5870 Radeon core i7 and 27 Inch 120HZ 80K contrast LCD monitor is any better.

My entire home network of Windows 2003 servers operating as a cluster when I have them linked.
My workstations and laptops on my home network, most of them are multi-monitor setups.
Or my Linux Beowulf cluster for processing power.
Then my main two workstations that are triple boot, multi-monitor and have several virtual machines.
Then my Xbox 360 Elite with external HD/DVD drive. :-)

Still trying to build my self contained biosphere, but I still need finish the holodeck, transporters and shield generator.

dunno my core i7, with gtx295 at moment.
but i would like to buy a mac pro in the near future, with dual quad xeon(yeah more power!), but maybe i should w8 for dual i7 xeon..still think on it :)
then i have also a ps3, a quadcore pc and a macbook dual core 2(the little one).

Dust intel and AMD will will have 8-core systems, hec if you want to you could just buy a motherboard that has support for the Intel xeon quad's and can handle 2 processors.

This still being cheaper then a Mac.
up to you. Intel will have straight 8-cores etc in 1 processor coming soon i could imagine, by far anything you buy for a pc willl be cheaper then the mac, and probly still more powerful.
But if you like mac's, specially the 8-core Neh, that chris has, go for it dude, very nice computer, just trying to save u $$ Though i gotta say dude depending on what you use ur computer for, if gaming perhappens seeing as u have a 295, Anything over a quad is extreme overkill seeing as games are only just adapting to Dual core use.

well i know, but if you try to build a pc with exactely spec of mac pro, its not cheap in aniway...
maybe 20% less, but no more, imaho only the mobo cost around 1000$, for ECC 32gb and dual quad-xeon support, i prolly w8 for a i7xeon, but aniway...i plan to buy the mac 8-core with the minimum config spec, and then upgrade it with thirdy part videocard, dunno maybe a gtx300 or the new ATI, in this way i can have more for the bucks, also i can use snow leopard and win7 with no problem on it.
if i build one myself, it will cost me just a little less, and i cant be sure that snow leopard will work on it, and even if there are chance , then i cant have warranty for future update...and i would need also to hack any driver not just the videocard s one.
and for let you know a mac pro is full intel machine, just have the case and the logo from apple and if intel will make a better cpu you can be sure, that apple will mount it(as you can see i7 on new imac),we are talking about server here..not a pc, i can go also with dell server..but then would be the same problem.
i know how to build a pc, as i build all pc that i have in the house, an hackintosh too, aniway maybe i should w8 for the new cpu.(there will be always new cpus)
overall for gaming my i7 and also my quad are very very good, i need something more for serious work with video editing, and digital recording.(and you know, nothing is still too fast for that).[a quad-xeon is an i7, so double quad-core(macpro 8core) is like to have two i7on board].
i thing those years are the best for any geek, we have great tecnology today, i remember old years, the word is uber fast, and every days we have more powerful toys to play with..but as geek, i will want always see more and more.

Never considered a brain "hardware". Besides, it's only a transducer for the unseen soul/spirit behind it. :D
