Download Our Windows 7 Tips!

I have Windows Vista installed on Boot Camp on my Intel Mac Mini and it works fine! It hasn't crashed and I have had no problems with it. I don't see why everyone, even people who have never used it before, says that Windows Vista sucks. I guess on a PC it might run slow or something, but it works great on a Mac. Here's my setup:

*UPDATE 11/9/2009*: Just so you know, my computer rating or whatever isn't 1.0, I took this screenshot before I tested it. I also sent an email to Chris with our thoughts on Vista and a link to this page. I'll post his reply.

Did you ever used Windows XP?

Yes, I got Vista a few months ago and had been using XP since 2004. The only changes I see are a new UI (duh), and better effects (minimizing, opening and closing programs). I guess the only bad thing I could think of would be that it doesn't have a lot of drivers, but that's it.

I loved Vista. It hasn't let me down. Maybe I've been lucky, but all of the computers I've used it on have no problems at all, 2006 and later. A while ago I even had an eMachines t3418 with the only upgrade being 1 GB of RAM. Ran very well.

Maybe it's just some computers that it happens to? But it's really not that bad. Most of the people who say that it's bad have XP, so... =)

I never had any complaints with Vista. I never seemed to have any of the problems that everyone else had. However, ever since I put win7 on all my computers I have had an eye opening experience. I have found what everyone was talking about and see how bad Vista is.

It is so much cleaner and the UI is so much better!!!

I also liked Vista since it came out, the only thing I hated and still hate in Windows 7 is the UAC...
I experienced some trouble with this that settings would get messed up, but once you turn UAC of it's a really good OS.
The most difficult thing for most of the people that were saying that it was bad probably was the UI changing significantly.
Windows 7 except the taskbar is basically the same principal.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that my only complaint was the UAC. =)

Vista isn't as bad as everyone says. I mean, yes there are driver issues and you need to have more RAM, but it's not HORRIBLE. It runs fine.

Nothing wrong with Vista, a lot of people love it. The only real reason I didn't go to it after SP2 was old hardware compatibility (scanners, printers) and my much loved games which run so great in XP. In fact, a lot of tweaking can be done with Vista much like XP, to make it run smoother and faster.

I understand our point. To be honest, I waited 1 year after Win Vista was introduced. In the begining, Vista had driver and compatability issues that needed resolving. To make this story short, almost all OS's when introduced to consumers at launch will have some issues with compatability with software and hardware.
My main issue with Vista is that it's a memory hog and a bit bloated. Vista now is a stable OS and I use it on my main system. I've been using Windows 7 on my laptop as a test bed, and let me tell ya'll something, 7 is everything Vista should had been and more.
I was so pleased with the beta version, and keep in mind my laptop will turn 3 in Dec, that I actually downloaded WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM from scratch and it took 2 hr to download and install!!! Hot Damn.

I never thought I would download an OS especially one from MS. I have done this with UBUNTU, but again no comparison.

I've never had a problem with windows vista, and i still use it.
I only have Windows 7 on my Netbook, it's just a starter edition.
Vista is a bit of a memory hog, but thats' not an issue as most computers should have 2Gb's of ram or way more.
and that runs fine, i've never ever seen BSOD since windows 95, and that was only a hardware issue. I have UAC Disabled, and i'm still happy, i am running Windows 7 RTM in Virtual Machine on Vista, it's a great OS I just don't really feel like upgrading yet as everythings good and i'm worried im'a have to reinstall my games...witch im to alzy to do, and updae my drivers, witch even though my harder is more then GODLY for windows 7, i just to LAZY
AM HAPPY, my Vista is a 64-bit Home premium, and my 64-bit windows Experience is awesome.
I just wish chris wasn't so negative towards vista. lol and idk why he's surprised that some people love vista i see alot of people on this forum who like vista......generally before Sp1 i'll admit it's beta was brutal.
;p The thing with apple computer's is their hardware is pre-configured etc, it's set up so the drivers work immediartly, generally when u buy a computer pc, or mac the drivers are ready, but with PC, we use so much different hardware etc, with Apple, It's all Intel-based stuff, nvidia.........rarely do i see anything else, So Generally it works.

Yeah I love how Chris says, "I haven't met anyone who was happy with Vista!" And here we have 8 people who think Vista isn't bad. When I was watching one of Chris' videos with a caller saying he liked Vista, I was thinking, "I can't be the only one who likes Vista." And I wasn't. =)
