spend 1500 on a top of the line custom gaming pc, including all the peripherals and furniture. buy a house for around 100,000 and rent it out, put about 150,000 into a savings account, and just live off the rest, never having to work. like an apartment or something. and i would keep a steady cash flow by collecting rent and having my savings account gain interest.

have you SEEN the current return on savings accounts latest is less than one percent interest!

Renting out a house sounds awesome.

It might be a pride thing, though, but I wouldn't want to live some place that was "less" than the house I was renting out; i.e. I wouldn't want an apartment if I have enough money to buy a house and rent it out.

I'd be willing to live on less month-to-month if it meant I could live in a house I fully own as opposed to an apartment.

not me, i would hate being tied to one location, with an apartment you can live there for like a year or 2 and go somewhere different.

i'd keep the majority in the bank and get a nice secluded place *those lots where its empty for acres but not isolated*...otherwise i dunno lol

maybe get a nice place for my folks or something.....and definitely the type of butler seen in mr deeds :)

then again 500k isn't much these days :( at least over here in california

Well that's why I have "move out of California" in my list! I'd rather not live in a bankrupt state, either.

Well, just did a little poking at a random realty website.. found a 168 acres going for 2,500 an acre. Nice.. 3 stocked fishing ponds, 2 miles of creek, well and city water.. nice little 3 br house mineral rights with a good chance of an oil deposit under it...
