Yes, i'm guilty, i do sport once a week. I swim every week, what do you do to keep yourself in shape? do you ever exercise? should geeks exercise, what do you do to keep the mouse arms in shape

I was two weeks from testing for my Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do when I went to college and never took the test. =(
Then I started working and it was 7 days a week for nearly 8 years, and I gained about 80 lbs.
I'm about to join a gym, maybe as soon as tomorrow so I can have access to a treadmill mostly- I own a Bowflex, but I don't have the room to really use it in the place I'm temporarily living in (though that temporary is nearing a decade =P)... It's taken a while to figure out which local gym to join, and I'm going with a smaller on the main shopping strip on the north end of Michigan State's campus called "Snap Fitness" instead of Powerhouse, because Powerhouse was a gigantic room with a sea of machines, and absolutely NO ambiance- it just looked like a workout "factory". Snap has some treadmills facing the street to watch passersby, and some facing plasma TVs on the wall. I also had to make sure I found a co-ed gym. While I don't expect a gym to be a dating scene, I DO expect to be able to have some cute women around to keep myself motivated.
I just want to get back to a reasonable weight- I'm aiming for 200, but even 220 would be amazing (I'm 6'1", so that'd be reasonably fit without being "skinny".) Have about 50 lbs to go to hit that target. I need to do it before next summer which is my 20 year high school reunion. I don't want to go back overweight. =P
i walk almost everywhere (ok well usually to the bus stop).
but thats mainly because im too cheap to drive in town.
but my exercise aside from that comes from playing "laser tag" with the scanners at work (work at target).
or me and my fellow co-workers attacking each other with plastic light sabers (i work in the toy department).
Of course geeks should exercise. just like how computer geeks keep their computer system running well, they should also keep their own body (which is made of a lot of systems) functioning well. Besides, exercising and keeping healthy makes you a live longer - that's easy to understand.
I don't have a regular sport anymore, but I used to play badminton as a serious hobby. Now the only substantial exercise I get is walking - but it's the good kind - I walk fast and cover long distances, around 5-6 km a day just walking to my classes and going home.
