I'm running OS X. I'd never had a Mac and bought one recently. I also run Ubuntu on 2 other machines and Vista on my wife's machine. Because of a late switch over from 98 to XP, for us, I never used XP much at all aside from helping my wife, as I spent a lot of time learning some of the ins and outs of Linux.
I'm not currently running it, but just for the reason of the logo itself if nothing else, I've LOVED Gentoo in the past and seeing it in the avatar next to the thread is the reason I clicked here at all. It certainly gives me something to do, at least until things are running smoothly, then I'd get bored. Last time I looked at it, the portage tree was very old, and I ended up building from a stage 3 that I got at funtoo.org It has a more current and what seems to be better working portage tree.
I will inevitably get bored with OS X and I had previously looked at intalling Gentoo, but it isn't really very ideal since I'd have to rearrange the drive so I can have more partitions than just 2 or 3, which as far as I know means reformatting the whole drive for an MBR. I've heard that OS X can still run like this if you do a bit stream copy of the partition and put it back correctly, but it's extra hassle in addition to dual booting and maintaining both. DAMNIT! Now I have the real urge to give the whole thing a try. Damn you and your slick looking avatar Brenden! These aluminium macbook pros get above 80 degrees when they go all out... and that's now possibly going to be on my lap for hours at a time.... I hope you're happy!
Currently, I'm running Vista, which I can't stand! I hope to be running Windows 7 shortly when I get enough money to purchase it when it releases to the market!
At the present time I have my Dell XPS and my Gateway laptop running Vista Home SP2. My Dell 8400 is running
Windows XP SP2 because I'm too cheap to invest in Vista for that system as my wife uses it and XP does all needs.
