I haven't been a member for too long, but Geeks so far has been a place where I meet and exchange thoughts with people of similar interests. It's definitely a plus that it's ran by a real geek by the way.

I have used this same statement before and I would like to post it again, because it is appropriate to the question and my answer has not changed:

This is what it is all about - a community of like minded, intelligent and creative people of all ages, races, locations, education and professional levels coming together to learn, share and grow while sharing their passion of technology. This is a place where everyone has an equal say and something to contribute. Whether you are trying to discover something new about a hobby, research a personal project or to troubleshoot and accomplish a professional decision or task; it is just a lot easier and much more beneficial being friendly and polite not to mention fun, than to be belligerent and combative and wreck any hope of accomplishing any goals that your may of had.

To me, Geeks! appears to be the embodiment of one original ideal use of the Internet. It is a place to share knowledge and ideas while discussing and interacting with and about them. Friends can be made, views can be shared, and a community can be forged. The fact that this differs from MySpace and all the rest by being a place based on a purpose or common ground makes it so much more appealing.

This is great stuff so far folks, keep the discussion going.
