Vista problems...(as always)

Okay, so I recently got vista, and I put in GTA:San Andreas, and it won't read it. And when I click on the computer thing, it only recognizes the the hardrive, and the partioned recovery part of the drive. But no disk drive. But when I check the mangment of the hardware, it's all there...and I checked online for update drivers for the disk drive, and nothing. So can anyone tell me what's wrong or how to fix it?
