Video playback isues

I have a Dell desktop that I am trying to setup as a way to play Hulu and Netflix as well as music through my TV (ironic, I know). The problem is that with both Windows 7 (the first beta I don't know if it's changed in the final release) and Ubuntu, video playback is choppy. The video card is GeForce4 MX 4000 64mb. On 7 it's a driver issue, but on Ubuntu, there are drivers and I can run Compiz.

Any suggestions?
