I have just dual booted my computer with vista and ubuntu for a change.....
i like the way you can customise ubuntu but i dont like the drop down windows and find vista easier to use than ubuntu. i though it would be better than it is..
its all open source man thats awesome to me because theres so much you can do with it. i did the same and im gonna get it all setup it takes a while to get used to but with the right apps it can be wayyy better than vista depending on what your looking for.
wen that happened with me i put the cd in and repaired my vista then it gave me two options to choose which was vista and other operating system (ubuntu) and i had dual boot
both vista and ubuntu worked
im running triple boot right now windows 7 vista and ubuntu

there is an app for Ubuntu that simulates the vista start menu, because a lot of people are either getting used to Ubuntu or prefer it, I personally like the Ubuntu drop down menus more, more organized.
I think that after you get over the initial learning where stuff is located phase ubuntu is a much better OS in general (security, price, combustibility, and apps)
Actually its easier to install thing in ubuntu than it is for windows. On windows you have to search the web for each app you want. On Ubuntu, you have a simple package manager that will download and install any app available for ubuntu. You can also add more repositories for even more apps. One click install man! or maybe two clicks or more for additional apps.
