Okay, so we're less than a month away from the new release of Ubuntu and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I've been testing it out for about a month now and the new features are amazing. Each release just gets better. They've fixed up the ext4 filesystem and it is now the default. Also, they're trying to move away from the "Add/Remove Software" system in favor of their new "Ubuntu Software Store". No, this does not mean you have to pay for it now, it's just a new way of presenting the software available and currently installed. The boot time is very impressive, it's still very very stable, and it's getting even more user-friendly. The warnings sound far less threatening but still get the point across. Also, they've added eye candy, notice how it's the last thing I say, because honestly it's so stable and all around impressive you won't be that concerned with the new glossy icons and menus. So, the leader of the Linux distributions is fighting hard for their spot in the computer world.

What I want to know is what do you all think? I'm looking more for other people who may have tested it, or atleast looked at the developer's forum discussing this release and sharing your thoughts. I'd rather not hear from the people who just want to say "I wouldn't know because I use Mac or Windows." because frankly, that's annoying.

So my Linux friends, what have you been thinking?

I've tested it out on my laptop which uses an intel wireless card and it had support right out of the box.

I never really liked the old interface as it was just to strange to me could you post up a pic of your desktop with the beta version on show?

If that's the default theme, I'm not a big fan of it. Either way, it should be a good release, especially with better support for intel graphics chips.

This is the theme I set up. I chose it because in the lighting conditions I have to deal with it shows up the best. If you're familiar with linux you should realise it's made to be customised.

The point is you can customise it, make it whatever you want it to be. There's a nearly endless supply of different themes available.
