I was urged to read the book by a friend, but then the movie came out and now I'm conflicted on which to do first.

Then I hear the stories about how they have turned vampires into a complete..hmm..non offensive word...uhm. They made them 'soft'

I'm not talking about cool soft, like Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or period vamps drinking wine- I mean a vampire that shops in Hot Topic while listening to his Ipod and being conflicted with how to ask out the girl at the counter-this is his 4th time after all.

I'm going to bite the bullet and watch the movie, rather than form an opinion based off of several unverified opinions. However, if this movie is bad it may very well ruin the book for melol

so... 12 or 13 times the movie and she is reading the third book. I understood about the book when I bоught her the first book. she told me that when I gave her "the unbelievable present" :D

It's not a book or movie for adults, be warned. 90% of the book is about how beautiful Edward is and most of the movie is her being blindly in love with him. The actor that played Edward hates the movie so much that he wishes he wasn't bound in to the contract to do more of them.

Lol!
Funny that the actor hates the movie :P
And... I haven't seen it, and I'm never going to see it

dude, they made vampires *sparkle*. :\
eh okay i won't be a hater -- if people enjoy the books and movie then that's great.

some of my co-workers are just completely nuts over the books and i tried to read them... got through the first book and barely made it through the second.

the main character annoyed me --- not edward (although, well, yeah, him too), but bella. she's so whiny and weak and needy and at some point i just wanted to shake her or smack or something.

Well when entering into Twilight I think that it is best to read the books first because then you will get a better idea of how the story is supposed to go and not how the producer & director screwed it up! i started reading Twilight and within a week I was addicted and in a grand total of 3 months 16 days I finished the entire series and though I was a little disappointed with how it ended. All in all I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who likes vampire stories and who loves fantasy literature.

tWHY?light lol, the book series is great the movie was ok lol.
you are not the only one that's addicted to twilight:P my girl is too hahahah
and since my real name is Edward she goes all nuts ^^ and then her friends ask if I actually live up to Edward Cullen life in the book. NO I don't sparkle :P

Yeah I have a friend named Edward and one named Jacob, this is actually true. And my friends gave me the new nickname Bella because I look like her, go figure. So there is an inside joke that I am Bella and that I am playing between Edward and Jacob, LOL. So yeah Twilight has made my life even more messed up but oh well my life has never been normal or easy.

LOL I just found out that my friend Jasper Hills has a new girlfriend and guess what her name is? Yep that's right Alice and she is just perfect for him if you ask me because she brings out the best in him no matter what the situation is. So now my Twilight family is falling even more into place:)
