TV tuner card

I am looking to buy a tv tuner card when i get my second monitor. I have never used one or seen one in action and i was wondering if anybody here has used one. If so how good is the signal i am looking for one under $50. Tiger direct has a couple for $20 with a remote. What is your opinion on them?

Permalink Reply by Wandering I on July 9, 2009 at 7:26pm: I've used a couple ATI All in wonder cards, one was agp, the other was a pci express version. The main thing you want to look at it is how clean your signal is up to the card itself, and which tuner the card itself has. Several manufacturers put their tuners in cards (phillips, sabrent, etc.). do the research on the card in question your looking at. From my experience the AIW cards worked fine for analog cable signals with pretty clear picture, however I can't comment as far as HD is concerned as I never used them for it.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Dilyn Corner on July 9, 2009 at 8:16pm: The signal is pretty decent on my step dad's tv tuner... It looks fuzzy, but then again, it's not HD. Looks just like what you'd see if you were watching TV.

I'd personally never get one though, because of Hulu and TiVo :)
