What does Mac OS X have that you love? What does GNU/Linux have that you love? What does Windows have that you don't hate? Does neither of these OS' have what you need?

Combine these and you will have your dream OS.

Personally I would like a OS, where your desktop, could contain all sorts of info, like RSS feeds, widgets, shortcuts to programs or web pages, search bars etc. About any material you want. I would like it to have the elegance of the Mac OS X with beautiful transitions and simple design. I would like it to be able to quickly manage and share data with others through simple drag and drop. For example if I want to give a Mac OS X usera file, I can have his computer(s) on a list and I just drag the file to the computers name, and it is sent to his/her computer (through a cloud if it is not on).

So what do you think?

Mac OS: System stability, pre-thought hardware design that is obviously well R and D'ed

Linux: Free, I mean nearly everything for it costs nothing and works better on linux, I also like being able to get software from repositories rather than fishing for it on the internet or installing it through the Terminal.

Windows: Largest support circle, window of opportunity for tweaking and troubleshooting that is hidden from other OS's, DirectX 9 and 10

My perfect OS would be one that manually services protocols as they are needed rather than load a bunch of them in the off chance that they are needed. Why does Windows load the SmartCard service, almost no one has these things so why make it automaticaly start, its the same with the tablet PC interface service. I would naturally want to keep the capability to play my games as well as beta my frankengames and screw a one button mouse I was a 300 button mouse.

Personally, I have already found my Dream OS.

It is developed by a company named after a fruit. :)

My perfect OS:

One that runs on everything that has a processor! And it should store my data and settings on my personal web space!

I'll get into more detail on my blog. But in a nutshell it has nothing to do with Windows, OS X or Linux!

A perfect OS must have no bugs and is really user friendly. I mean all software are available and fully compatible and has a fine user interface. A good OS should also run fine even on average spec PCs.

there is no such thing as "a perfect OS"
