So, as I survey the land from the massive Cape cod on the RC compound, I finally feel like winter is here!! Thus far this year we have had little more than an inch or so of snow. I miss the snows of Chicago. It was fun. Of course in Tenessee whenever there was the threat of an inch of snow, traffic ground to a halt.. So, how's about you? It's just started here and we expect to get a foot or so tonight. Yee Ha!!
Well, north of you on the MA/NH seacoast, we have only seen white when we look at the ground since December came round, so you can have our share of the expected 16" with this storm :(
It seems like every Sunday I have a huge snow storm in Maine. If my grades didn't need imporvements, and I never had to shovel, I would love having snow storms. But I don't.
Dang, the HS is already closed for tomorrow, as is the local college. That means 3 kids home, so they are up late goofing off ... like me ;)
I sure hope work decides to close instead of having me drive in during the morning when it is expected to be at its worst. At least the kids can shovel me out if I have to make it in.
It did a sprinkling of snow last night, but nothing to really talk about. We expect anywhere from 10 to 15 inches by the middle of the morning tomorrow.
I still can't believe that they close schools because of snow. When I went to school it was within walking distance and I was always there no matter what the weather was like.
The HS my 2 youngest boys go to is a 20 minute highway ride away and services 3 towns and isn't even located in one of those towns. No "walking" to a local school for many these days ;)
Yee Ha indeed! I'm from the deep South of central Florida, so snow is just out of the question. I have seen snow, just never lived anywhere it snowed as a rule. Or should I say, I didn't live where it snowed at the time of year it would be snowing.
However, right now it's 49 degrees, the wind is gusting to around 20 to 25 miles an hour and that's just about as cold as I ever wanna be. I'm a southern girl, can ya tell??
After our 2 to 3 inches this morning, it was all gone by this afternoon. I am glad since I love watching it come down but having to get out in it isn't fun for me.
We shut down when it snows down here in Alabama. We just aren't equipped for it like people in the north.
